SmartZman Systems LLC ("SmartZman," "we," "our," or "us") operates the SmartZman mobile application and related services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using SmartZman, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly and information generated through your use of the app:
- Account information — name (if provided), email address, and authentication credentials when you create an account.
- Device & integration information — device identifiers, access tokens, device status (on/off state, temperature, etc.), device names, types, room assignments, connection status, and scheduling preferences. This data is used solely to provide automation and scheduling functionality.
- Schedule data — the schedules you create, including zmanim preferences, time offsets, and device actions.
- Location data — your city or zip code, used solely to calculate accurate zmanim for your location. We do not track precise GPS coordinates.
- Usage information — app version, device type, error logs, and general interaction data, used to improve reliability and performance.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To calculate and execute zmanim-based schedules for your devices.
- To sync your schedules and device configurations across your account.
- To send important service notifications (schedule failures, device connectivity issues).
- To improve app performance, stability, and the overall experience.
- To provide customer support.
3. Smart Home Device Access
SmartZman connects to your smart home devices through their respective APIs (e.g., TP-Link, Samsung SmartThings). We only access the minimum permissions needed to turn devices on/off and read their status. We do not store video, audio, or sensor data from your devices beyond what is needed to execute your schedules.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We only share data when necessary to:
- Communicate with connected smart home integrations as authorized by you.
- Support cloud infrastructure providers for hosting and data storage.
- Process payments (we never store your payment details directly).
- Comply with legal obligations or protect the rights and security of SmartZman and its users.
5. Data Security & Retention
Your data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest, stored on secure, access-controlled cloud infrastructure. We take reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect your information. We retain account and scheduling data for as long as your account remains active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at support@smartzman.com.

Depending on your location, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your account and data.
- Export your schedule data.

SmartZman is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
